Brooklyn's new home for Afro Jazz is Tamboril Restaurant. Every Sunday through labor day, beginning Father's Day, music from African, Caribbean & Latin traditions will be woven together with Jazz.
On June 15th & 22nd, former Fela Kuti (pioneer of Afrobeat music) band member Joseph "JoJo"Kuo(www.myspace.com/jojokuomusic) will perform with his Afrobeat Collective from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. June 15th 2008

Interchange Jazz is led by tenor/soprano saxophonist "Doctor" Craig McGorry. The quartet, which has been playing together for almost 5 years, plays Bossa Novas, Sambas, & Traditional Jazz. Partly inspired by the Stan Getz/Charlie Byrd "Jazz Samba" album, the group's sound will get you moving. Tim "T-Dog" Mule is on bass, Takeshi Hiwatari is on Guitar, and Eamon Ellams is on drums. They have performed together in various clubs, lounges, and art galleries around the New York City area. They have also performed for the last few years at the NYC Marathon.

Durasoul is a souljazz collective based out of the New York metro. The group blends jazz, soul, funk, Latin, bossa rare grooves together into a seamless rhythm to move your body and feed your head. Together for 3 years, the band members take to the stage with the combined experience of years of touring/performing and recording, from the former Moon Records ska group The Scofflaws.
